Default Buying a new (used) camper?

My husband has it in his mind that we need to buy a camper. We usually go camping 1-2 times a month spring-fall so I know we could get good use out of it. We've been tent campers forever, and I like it! What are the pros/cons of buying a camper vs. tent camping (other than cost)?

Storage of the camper when not in use. That's the big one stopping me from owning one.

The main pro is security, as campers are less vulnerable than tents. The bad part, as ChadTower mentioned, is storage... Some people prefer bulkiness. I'm more of a tent kind of person.

I like the storage places available in campers. That way I don't have to find boxes or ways to carry everything I use in a tent, because I can store it and use it from the same spot in a camper. The con is that it definitely takes more gas to pull a camper than it does a tent.

I think the gas is my most valid point right now. He's not buying the storage one because we do have land, so it would just stay here. I wonder what it would cost to fill one of those things up though, yikes.

Are you talking a trailer or an RV? "Camper" can really mean either.

I think I'd like to have one, one day. No time soon though. I think the gas prices are definitely a valid point, they're insane!

Sorry I didn't specify, he is looking at a 2010 Forest River Cedar Creek Fifth Wheel. It's very nice, and looks great. My concern is will I still feel like I'm camping, or more like I'm at a hotel? Plus the extra gas in our truck... I just don't know.

Cost and storage are both good but are you sure that you will get the full use out of it. I know people who try to camp out 3-4 times in a good month, seems like maybe you are between too little and too much.

If you don't know then you don't want it enough to make the expenditure.
