Default Drive or pull behind

We are looking to get a bigger camper. I don't know if I want a pull behind or an RV that you drive. There are 5 of us that will be using it, so it has to be kind of big. Your thoughts?

We have had both. We started with an old motorhome and we liked it all except we didn't like not having a car to drive if we needed to leave the campsite. That was a negative for us. Also having to have maintenance and insurance on the motorhome didn't really play well in our budget. We decided to go with a popup trailer and its worked out great for us. Only downfall for that is we are limited to only towing the trailer when we go on trips. We can't tow the boat or motorcycles.

Really you trade one for the other. You just have to really weigh your options and make the right purchase for what you will be doing. Good luck with your choice

I like the tow behind kind. We have one that is bigger than a pop up and could sleep 5. It was not easy to learn to tow it but it is no harder than driving an motor home. I would rather tow a motor home then drive one and tow a car.

I prefer towing behind so that I have a vehicle, rather than towing the Jeep like lbean said. My parents motor-home is huge though and sleeps 8 comfortably while ours sleeps 4 comfortably.

Thanks everyone, I think we will go with a pull behind too. I like the idea of having the vehcile there to use. Although when you drive an RV you can tow the car behind the camper.
