Default Tumbleweeds

Has anyone here ever seen those tiny tumble weed homes? They come on wheels and can be connected to a trailer hitch for transportation. They are so tiny but are so cute! I think these will be perfect for camping.

I don't think the aerodynamics would allow them to be transported very fast. Just my opinion and the prices are WOW. But the concept sure has me thinking to build a couple for guest houses.

Hi...

I've seen lots of tumbleweed, but never fashioned into a house. Would love to see one.

I know of a woman who "collects" them, lacquers them, and sells them for a nice price over the 'net...!!

I assume you are talking about the real tumbling tumble weeds? Reminds me of National Boy Scout Jamboree in Valley Forge in '57 and again at Colorado Springs, '60. Kids always bring items unique from their area to sell or trade. We made a killing on sagebrush sprigs and "porcupine eggs". (cockleburrs)
Yes, a lot of scouts went home very proud of their pillbox nest of porcupine eggs.

Yeah, I think your right. It may not be suitable for camping unless owning a tract of land that can be camped on. I wonder if there could be another way to transport it. That may not be worth it, either. They range in price, but yes, still a bit pricey. Oh, well, just a thought!

Yup...

The ones that eventually roll into fences, etc.

Wow, this is interesting. I've never heard of anything like this! Besides fences, what else can be made from real tumbleweeds? I think just painting them vivid colors would look cool in a home.

I think the price is what gets everyone on them especially now. Tons of my friends are cutting back on their trips out just because with the economy like it is they can not afford it, let alone afford another type of shelter.
