Racoon, maybe just going hiking or bping with an experienced friend would be more affordable. Don't make it an official "class", just watch how he/she does different things. I agree with Dura, there's nothing like practice. Even in the back yard is good, if you don't have time for a real trip.

There's plenty of video's on You tube that can walk you through different survival related topics. Check them out, hit the woods and start practicing.
