Stranded on a jungle island

If you were stranded on an island that was covered in thick jungle and waterfalls, what is the one item you would choose to have with you between a magnifying glass and a knife? I think I would take the magnifying glass and then just think of ways to build weapons to hunt with.

Well now...let me think...I haven't been stranded on a jungle island in more than...no, wait...I've never been stranded on a jungle island...!!

But in answer to your question...the knife. It has so many more functions than a magnifying glass.

Now tell us what your choice was, eh?

the glass can burn ants and make fire if it's sunny

the knife can cut firewood, build shelter, turn a limb into a crutch, make weapons to kill game, skin and clean the animals you killed with your spear, strike against a rock to make fire anytime, build a raft to get off that damned island, and whittle a little stick into a miniature totem pole to talk to so you don't completely lose your mind

I'll burn ants after I sail my raft home
