Default Would You Eat Human?

If you were lost in the woods and your hiking partner accidentally died from blunt force trauma to the head with a large rock? I would. Probably just stick to the arms and legs first. To be noted, I would allow anyone to eat me if it meant they would survive. I'm just going to get cremated anyways.

When it comes right down to it, I think I'd do whatever it takes to survive. If someone croaked, I'd cook some man flesh. Dog, cat, snake, bug, snail, etc. it's all food.

That said, I'd much rather it be someone I'm not close to. Eating a friend would be much harder than eating a random hiker that happened to die.

I guess it was just a matter of time before someone brought this subject up. You often here folks say, "no way", they are the same ones who won't eat a bug....until they are on the verge of death from starvation, then It's "hey this ain't so bad". The same goes for cannibalism. Once that internal portion of your brain reaches into it's deepest darkest most primal state, you will eat most anything. Considering the tragic events that took place throughout history that led other to feast upon their friends or family. I guess to say that I wouldn't be much different! So that's a yes.

I think the hardest part would be carving up a buddy or family. The actual act of eating it.....Newanderthal said it, it's all food!

How about your Dad? Plane crash a few years ago in the copper basin area of Idaho in the winter. Father, daughter, pilot, daughters boyfriend. I can't remember the exact sequence but the Father and one other died in the crash and the daughter and one other survived. They ended up eating parts of Daddy and the other guy to survive. It is easy to condemn if you weren't there but if you were.......????

I hiked some of that country this summer and I would hate to have to try walking out in the summer, let alone in the winter. We were still having snowball fights the end of August. My "surprise" album of pics was taken in that same area.

Be the last end for me.If there were bugs lizzards worms and such that would be first.but I would survive if it meant eating human flesh.

No idea what I would do. I would hope I would starve first, but I don't know. If you come down to it, survival is hard wired in the human brain. I would imagine that the drive to survive would trump human sensibilities.

I suppose no one can really know for sure until they're there. But...I'm pretty confident that I would not. I've done a lot of hospice work and thought a lot about death. There are a lot of things worse than dying. Eating my hiking partner is one of them I think.
