Default Best place you ever 'tent' camped?

Just wondered if you had to pick one or two of the best places you ever camped with a tent, where would it be? Off by yourself in the deep woods? Somewhere on the beach? Maybe even a really nice campground?

Off in the woods. Have many spots I like so not one really rises above the others. One area that is my favorite is the less used and often unofficial trail in the Clifty Wilderness area in the Red River Gorge.

It is not always the scenery for me but the company I keep when I go out. Some of the best times I remember are the simple camping trips we took when we were younger, as long as you have the tent and the company its good anywhere.

Blue Ridge Mountains off Hwy 321 in North Carolina. I found a valley away from everything and spent a week there.

Near the La Garita Wilderness in Colorado on Pauline Creek. Found a string of beaver ponds that stretched along the valley at about 11,000 ft. Camped right next to a nice pond and watched the beavers swim around in the evening. Plenty of brookies in the creek. It was a great spot, very few people knew about it, and we camped there several years running.

Yes, the exact location remains classified but I will tell you it is up on the Colorado Plateau somewhere. There are no trails. We came across it on one of our explorations and liked it so much that we have been back several times and have another exploration planned to the north soon.

We took a good friend with us the last time and decided to give him this site for his tent as a place of honor for him. That just plain spooked him. He did not want to stay there alone even though we would be nearby. We found another stunning place that would fit both of our tents.

This is going to sound a bit gushy but right in our back yard. It's my favorite place to tent camp. The whole family goes out and there is no TV, cell phones, computers, etc.. We don't always have the time to tent camp elsewhere so it's the next best thing.
