Default Chilling Out on Lake James!

My sisters and niece with friend joined me lake camping in the mountains last week for their first camping experience giving me the opportunity to buy two "necessary" toys. Walmart sells the O2 Cool fan that operates on batteries or electricity that saved the nights with thunder, lightening and downpours when the tents were closed up tight. Even better, on low speed it blocked out enough "natural" noise that everyone was able to go to sleep. Of course I purchased one for my tent too!

The Sevylor floats tied to trees provided hours of relief from 95 degree weather and a quick way to get to shore for those kids afraid of what bites beneath the surface of the water. :-)

My sister is still suffering from PTSD from bugs, thunder, lightening and lack of bathrooms, however the kids are resilient and claim to have had a good time. My other sister wants to hike the Linville Gorge with me. Not sure that either of us are up to backpacking adventures in the fall yet!
