Default Do you take a hot water heater?

I was told that there are some hot water heaters that heat up water quickly when you are out camping. I was wondering if they are worth it when you are tent camping? We heat our water over the fire, and, to be honest, we can't really take showers, unless we are out with the campers. Tent camping is supposed to be roughing it, isn't it?

Cold water bathing doesn't bother me. It's good enough for average length trips.

No offense but its not a 'hot' water heater. Its simply a 'water heater' if the water was already hot there would be no need for a heater :P.

To answer your question you can use black containers in the summer and they will get the water HOT just make sure to roll them around and stir up the heated and un heated water.

OR you could buy the Colman water heater that uses propane and heats the water while using a hose.

Thats what i've seen, the propane heater... but with that, you need to buy the "shower tent"...
for us... its sponge baths, and every couple of days we head to the shower blocks for a long hot shower!

I usually leave a couple of gallon containers sitting out in the sun all day. The water gets plenty warm for washing hair and a shower.

This is what we do also. It's pretty easy and works great. I've never found the need for a water heater, but I think it would be convenient if you really wanted one.

It is a southern thing, don't get everybody confused.

If hot water comes out of it then it is a Hot Water Heater.

I think a hot water heater (yeah, I'm from the South ) would be a little over the top for most camping trips. Leaving water out in the sun ought to have your water plenty warm enough for bathing, and if your down here in the South it will just about be boiling in an hour!
