Default Dog in the tent?

Do you let your dog sleep in your tent? I'm afraid my dog's toenails will rip the bottom of mine. If it's raining I let her sleep in the car. Otherwise, she just stays outside.

I once camped with two German shepherds. They did NOT like the car and did NOT like staying out. They ended up on a spare sleeping bag in my tent.

I do not have a dog but I cannot imagine having one in my tent with me. Unless it was a small dog I think it would be outside!

When I am camping, I sleep with two companions, my dog and a gun. My gun is a big one and my dog is a one hundred pound red wolf. I don't like being disturbed when I am sleeping. It makes me kind of surly.

I generally have my dog sleep in the tent with me but sometimes he unzips the zipper and sleeps outside the tent door.

My 85-lb Bernese Mountain Dog always sleeps in the (2-person) tent with me, especially since I generally only camp in cool/cold weather and she helps with warmth. I have never had a problem with her ripping the floor or walls.

My two 90 lb Labs sleep in my room at home and they sleep in my tent when we go camping.

Keeping your dogs in the tent with you keeps them out of harms way. You don't want them bumping into a porcupine or skunk, etc.. in the middle of the night
