Default How many tents are sold in 1 Year?

I was going over some statistics at work today and I started thinking. Of course that totally distracted me from work, lol. So here is the question. How many tents do you think are sold in the U.S. each year?

Based on all the sales you see each year I would think probably quite a few. Certainly not something you have to buy a new one of every year though.

I wonder of those stats how many are returning customers who are either getting the next best model or those who are replacing an existing one? Like new customers that are unsure how to keep their gear in the best shape to avoid breaking it before it should be time to retire it.

I think Coz way underestimated the number sold, so I'm going to double that and say 8.

It is also dependent on how you want to define a tent, like do the little tents that people take to beaches count? Additionally, I would think that the number of tent sales in the US per year is probably double the population of Burning Man, seeing as that is the single largest event that which requires a tent every year and pretty much destroys every tent which is present. So at least 53,735 tents are bought every August. But there aren't any good stats on it. The US doesn't even keep good stats on how many people go camping every year.

I'm going to say that fridge knows that one out of every 41 people in the U.S. buys a tent every year.
