New Mexico tent camping

I went camping in New Mexico once. I had a tent and everyone else had a camper. Later that night it got so windy the tent blew over with me in it and I ended up in a hotel. Is there ever a time and place when you can tent camp in New Mexico?

Where did you stay at? I have tent camped in New Mexico before but I can see why you may have had this problem. You have to think about the wind factor before you set your campsite up.
