Default The old kind

Do you remember when you could buy the old tents that had the metal poles? I am curious to know if you can still buy those anywhere?

I'm sure if you look hard enough you could find some on E-bay. Maybe somebody in your neck of the woods would have one on Craigs list. You never know.

I'd agree with ebay and craigslist.... just keep checking and you'll find what you're looking for!

Ebay, craigslist and yard sales. After that try some shops that sell old stuff.

You never know what kind of stuff you can find in some of those old thrift stores. Check the army surplus type stores too, they always have really neat stuff.

There are still some companies around that are making old style canvas tents. They tend to be pretty spendy though, but if you Google canvas tents they are available. I like them for the cool factor, but pretty bulky and most don;t vent very well so they are stuffy and can be a little smelly.

Try The Sportsman's Guide or Cheaper Than Dirt. They both have websites and carry a lot of surplus goods that include military surplus from as far back as WWII.

The new tents are so much easier to get up. I am just a little curious as to why you want one of the old style canvas tents. Hope I am not being too nosy.
