Default Will you buy tent from China?

Hello everybody,I am Vincent from China.

I have been working for a tent factory and exporting the tent to the world. Now I am planning to build a B2C website to sell tents to the end user directly.

The quality of our tent is very good.We are the supplier of TESCO.

The price is around USD100.00 For example:

‎2 Person Camping Tent USD100.00/pc Free ShippingItem:JVIA001
Size:205cm*150cm*115cm
Flysheet:190T polyester pu coated 2000mm
Inner:190T polyester B/R
……Floor: 210T PU3000mm, taped
Frame: 7.9mmFB pole
Weight:2.10kg

Regretly,I do not know how to insert a picture. But I am sure you will like the design.

So , could you tell us if you will buy the tent or any other camping gear from China directly? And what is the reason??

Thank you very much!!!

No. Because a 2 person Tesco tent cost about $30.00

19.99 GBP = 31.05 USD

I thought many high end Tents were made in china like Backpacks. Give me a web site Jviatent and I'll let you know what I think with an honest opinion.
I also am a registered gear tester with an independent agency. I test any gear that is used for Backpacking. I'll send you my contact information as soon as you send me that web site with specs and details on that tent.
You have a private message from me with my e mail.

Depends on the tent you are offering. If it is this one not interested. Tesco 2 Person Dome Tent - Tesco.Direct.

I don't mean to be rude but there are some problems with the design. First it appears to be a single walled design and this creates condensation issues. If it is t wall please disregard. Second I prefer side entry doors. Also if this is the same tent I can get it on the web for around 30 Us Dollars and not the 100 you mention. Would be very interested in see the tent if this is not the same tent.

Edit stand correct seems that this is mesh walls and fly so first issue is resolved.

To tell you the truth, we try to avoid anything made in China because there is so often either something wrong or some danger. The recalls have been huge, so I'm skeptical.

Hi Fridge,

This is Vincent from Jviatent.Thank you very much for your reply on outdoorbasecamp.com.

Our website is jviatent.com. But most of tents on that web are for wholesales. There is a C2C websites called taobao in China. There are many camping tent with good quality, design and price.Maybe people will just busy one or two tents once time.So I can buy the tent on taobao for them. Then they can have a good tent at low price.

But I am not sure if the price is competitive when the freight be added. The freight for a 2.5kg tent is about USD50.00 by DHL,UPS or other express.

//s.taobao.com/search?q=+%D2%B0%D3%AA%D5%CA%C5%F1 This is the website of taobao. Please find your favorite item and I will translate the specification and quote the price for you.So we can find out if my idea can work.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Vincent Yang

Hi Hayley,

Thank you for your reply.

The situation that you said is exsit indeed. But the truth is: The $10 tent that you spend in a store is Made in China. The $1000 tent that you spend in Coleman is Made in China too.

Seems like almost everything we have are made in China these days.

I'm quite confused about the tents you are offering. You said in your first post that you are working in a tent factory and you supply tents. Then on the next post you made, you mentioned about taobao. Is that the same as the company you are working with or a sister company of some kind?

Hi Philly,

My company name is Jviatent. We are a tent manufacturer and supply the tents to the importer and wholesaler around the world. If the price of our tent is $15,maybe the price will be $150 when you buy it from a camping gear store.

So I am wondering if I can build a B2C web and sell the tents to the end user directly. That is why I write this post.

But people will just buy one or two pcs tent once time.It can not meet our MOQ.So I planning to buy the tent from Taobao at first. If the business is good then we can produce by ourselves.(Taobao is a C2C web just like Ebay).

Sorry for my poor English and hope it will not make you confused.
