Default Sitting still

I love to pick a spot in the middle of nowhere and just sit still. Someplace no other people go. I have had wildlife walk past me and not even know I was there. Who else does this?

I do this often - almost every time I go out.

A few parks I've found benches that have a nice view from that I've plopped down on for a while. I've always enjoyed the sounds of nature and love it when I can watch an animal do its thing.

I do this a lot. We have a nature preserve not too far away and we will hike out about a mile and then just watch. It's a great way to spend an afternoon for sure!

Can I join you guys in your solitude with nature?

I also do this every time I go out in the woods. It relaxes me and gives me time to think about my life.

I do this all the time, when I'm out in nature and in well populated spaces too. I have a natural gift at blending in with the scenery.....I should really be a detective or a spy.

Hehe charlene, you made me smile! I love to do it as well but I often have one of my kids with me and they are not old enough yet to really sit still and be quite enough. As they get older I am sure they will catch on.

I especially enjoy this during late fall when it's cool out and the trees are bare. I'll stop and cook up something warm to drink or eat and just relax, maybe even put up a hammock to kick back in for a while. Once your still for a while, the wild life really starts moving again.

This is always what I wanted to do whenever I'm hiking. There is no better reward than to find a place in your destination, sit there, and enjoy the scenery.

For me this is one of the reasons for trekking - finding a spot and claiming it as my own for a short time. Most of my trekking buddies feel the same and we let each other have our "moment".
