Default Lifting Brace??

I found my old lifting brace from when I used to work at the hospital in central supply. They issued them to us to use when we were lifting something heavy and they worked. It did keep me working for a few more years. Has anyone ever tried one of these? I am going to keep it out to use when I go backpacking. It can't hurt.

If you have a good frame pack that's loaded and adjusted properly, there should be no strain on your back. All the weight should be shifted to your hips.

I've been fortunate, working construction for years, that I've never injured my back seriously. But backpacking is one of the least strenuous things I do.

I think packing your pack to keep the heaviest load in close to your body is a good idea, and dropping my pack to stretch my back and shoulders periodically helps for me. Also a couple of pull-ups on a tree limb seems to reduce my soreness.

Try several ideas and see what works for you.
