how do you learn to dive?

I haven't ever been diving before, but I'm interested in learning about it. Would I sign up for a class to learn about it? Is there more than one type of diving?

Usually the local dive shop will offer classes. You have to be certified in open water before you can do cave diving I believe. That are the only two types of diving that I know about.

I think divers take diving lessons before they do it in an actual diving session. I'm not a diver but I would like to learn how to dive, only if I have enough courage to go underwater and meet the sea creatures.

Wow! I wouldn't have even thought about cave diving; I wonder what that is like! It sounds so cool and I like the idea of exploring a cave, but underwater, not above ground!
