Default Not Winter, Not Fall

I don't like this time of year. At this time of the year, where we live, the weather is nasty, cold, wet, muddy, inhospitable, and just generally not the type of weather I generally like. Either get colder so the ground will freeze or warm up so we can have some decent weather. Geez!

I hear you OldSole. I don't like that type of weather either. I don't mind any type of dry weather, but wet weather doesn't work for me. I would rather go to a dry place, like the desert, for the winter. I wonder if I could set up in the Southwest for the winter?

Yeah I know, CatsEye. When you start to get older you can certainly understand why the older people used to complain about this type of weather. I remember my grandmother talking about "rheumatism" and joints aching and stuff and now I'm there saying the same thing.

You do not tell us where you live. In No. Nevada at 5,000 feet spring and fall are the wonderous times of the year. To quote Mark Twain- "everyone complains about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it."

You cannot change the weather. You have three choices- move, don't think about it, or travel somewhere else to temporarily fix your problem.

It was a bit chill here today too, only 70 degrees with blue skies. We still forced ourselves to go out and eat though, way out into a desert canyon.

apologies to those who are experiencing harsh, cold, wet weather but down here in southern Arizona it is good for staying out all day long.

We have had very clear and cold weather for the past two weeks or so. There has been lots of sunshine which warms the house nicely, but it has been too cold for long walks.

It's fall here but winter is quickly approaching. We are supposed to be in the 40s this week though, but this past weekend we were in the high 20s! Too cold to snow and I want snow.

What I can't stand is the temperature going up or down twenty degrees in a day. Or even overnight. I'll leave in the morning and it won't be that bad and then later after work I'm freezing.

Skybear,

In dry, high elevation locations, a dirunal swing of 50 degrees is common.
