Have you ever woke up and there was an animal at your campsite?

Last year, I woke up to 2 deer right by my tent. Of course, as soon as I moved, they took off running. It was neat to hear them run (so close) by the tent.

I've woke up several times to find different animals in camp. I think we're all lucky in that respect. When you spend a lot of time outdoors over the years, you see things in ways that a lot of people never will.

There are always racoons that come around our campsite. But I think some people have been feeding them. I always chase them away. I don't like the fact they are likely candidates for rabies.

I have woken up (after failing to store food properly) with a racoon about two feet from my face. I politely told him the sack he was getting into was mine, and he couldnt have it. He had the nerve to growl in my face. I hoped up so fast yelling at him. He ran into the woods with his two friends, we didnt see them again.

I have woken up to SQuirrels barking, deer wandering around, even a fox on the edge of the campsite. I like animals.

We find opossums all of the time where we camp. But they are the scavengers around where we camp. They can be nasty if you happen upon one but I usually take my walking stick with me when I head out. They usually aren't there during the daytime, just at night. Nasty slick tailed little critters.

I agree with you! It is great being deep in the woods. You never know what you are going to come across. I would love to see a bear (a friendly one of course..lol) and a moose. I go searching for moose all the time but I have never had any luck.
