Default Camping While Pregnant

I know people will have varying opinions on this, but I want to hear the different points of view. A friend of mine is 5 months pregnant and wants to join some friends on a short camping trip, but her husband has told her he doesn't feel comfortable with it. It's their first pregnancy: would you tell her she could go?

Sure, if she wants to! What is the harm? Where will they be sleeping? My cousin went camping with us once. We all had tents at the time. She was 5 months pregnant with twins. We had air mattresses and she did just fine.

It really depends on the condition of the woman. My wife is currently 7 months pregnant. If it weren't raining this weekend, we might have gone camping. Just a few weeks ago, we went on a short kayaking trip.

If everything in the pregnancy has been smooth up to the five-month point, I see no reason why she should be able to go camping.

Now, I wouldn't exactly recommend wilderness camping with miles of hike-in, but the typical park-at-your-campsite camping that most people do should be completely fine.

Absolutely! My husband and I went camping when I was 8 months pregnant! I'd say that as long as the woman wants to, the pregnancy has been reasonably healthy, and the camping won't be way backcountry, then of course!

I don't see why not as long as she's comfortable and she keeps her activity level reasonable. Another thing is, she'll want to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

I don't see any problems if she hasn't had any issues so far. Besides there's nothing better than fresh air and walking. Bring her something soft to sit on and lay on and she should be fine.

If she is comfortable that's what matters along with others who might be able to help her when she is needing a quick break, which can very well happen. I have seen ladies that could run miles around me pregnant before, its not a curse you know.
