Holiday camping

Since Easter is tomorrow it got me thinking, does anyone ever camping for the big holidays? I know Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day are popular camping weekends. But what about Easter, Thanksgiving, or, if you live in the south, even Christmas?

My family loves to camp during major holidays when not many people are out camping. It's nice to get away from some of the holiday madness in our town and be able to truly kick back and relax.

I did a little hiking this morning and there were some camping today, I will start mine next weekend.

I camped this weekend. Just about had the area to ourselves. It was wonderful!

I do camping occasionally and it normally happens during school holidays at far away place and location. There used to be short camping's during weekends too. It's a very nice recreational and stress relieving activity.

Sure we try to camp on some Holidays. We do it because it's usually a long weekend away from work and we don't need to take any time off. We have camped at Halloween several times.

We tend to avoid camping on the holidays, especially the ones that give long weekends, because it's tends to be a bit more crowded at the sites. We just have a cookout in the backyard.

unless you are really getting out there most hollidays in the spring and summer will be too crowded for my taste. But if you are a bit ballsier than your average joe, camping in late fall for Thanksgiving or on Christmas and New Year are great. One year I had my own little feast in the woods for thanksgiving. Then the day after I came back and did the whole family thing.

I camp occasionally during big holidays, but I don't really get into it. Like the others said, the sites would be too crowded during those holidays. I didn't camp last weekend.
