Default Wear a Watch?

I find myself incapable of riding my bike without my hand watch. I always measure how much time certain trail requires and similar things. Do you do this?

Being incapable of riding without a watch, an item of clothing or a teddy bear shows a slight flaw in your character IMO. You can overcome things like that with some conscious effort. It is a form of compulsive behavior.

What you probably meant to say is that you really like riding with a hand watch because of the information it provides.

I never heard of the term "hand watch", are we taking about a wrist watch? I never measure time on trails when hiking or biking. Sounds to me like you'd be great at navigating a submarine.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Maybe he wants a personal best time on a trail. If he's compulsive, perhaps it is just to do better, to go faster, to make himself stronger. You have to set goals or you will not acheive much.

Didn't mean to make it sound like there'e something wrong with it, just commenting that I didn't do it.

Default I like knowing times

I always watch the time when I'm walking. I want to know how far in I've gone and how far out I have to go in the opposite direction. It's easier to tell if you're getting lost or off your path, I've found. I also keep a diary after I finish walking, so logging the time is important to me.

Hi...

No hand watch here...

A home inspection client of mine had an expensive racing bike mounted on the top of his car.

I was a bit surprised to see that he had no right hand...!!

You have to give a guy like that a lot of credit...!!

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

Hand watch? Wrist watch? Heck no - I hate things on my wrists. When I walk I use my cell phone to tell me how long it took me to walk a certain distance. I also use a pedometer.
