Mountain Lions

Every now and then I see news stories about someone who is attacked by a mountain lion while biking. I know this happens a lot in California. Is anyone from California? How often does this happen?

I do not think it is a huge issue. Sure it does happen but the lion who does it is often sick and gets put down. There are lots of people who bike in the mountains every day and never see a mountain lion.

Attacks have become more frequent since we started intruding on the natural habitat of wild animals, but it's not as frequent as the media makes it seem. They usually exaggerate a lot to capture the publics attention and get more viewers/readers.
