| Hi...
My first ride on a snow machine was also my last ride on one.
I was living in my "cube" (Alaska's smallest "house")...8' X 8'...with no electric or running water.
I kept my vehicle at a neighbor's house in the winter, in order to have a place to plug in my engine heater (all vehicles have them there).
Not wanting to bother my neighbor who lived a half mile away, I decided to walk about two miles to a bar/restaurant down the road that the trail I lived on led to. The tempurature was at least forty below zero, a common wintertime temp in Fairbanks.
A snow machine came along, and the driver asked me if I wanted a ride. I politely told him no, and off he went. A few minurtes later he came by again...thinking he was a good Samaratian, I guess, and asked me again if I wanted a ride. So I got on.
Even though I was dressed for the weather, that was the COLDEST ride I've ever taken. And it also was my last ride ever on one...!!
