Default Can an outfitter accommodate me?

I have never been horseback riding in my life. We are considering doing a pack trip for a few days in the Grand Canyon this year. Is it unwise for me to attempt this without experience, or can an outfitter accommodate me?

There are rides right there on the south rim who will accomodate all experiance levels.... or there used to be anyway.

Susie,

Outfitters are used to people with little experience, Just be honest with them. I would not recomment riding into the canyon to Phantom Ranch, usually on the Bright Angel Trail. It is one of the most terrifying riding trips you could possible attempt. Only mules are used, and they have not had fatality in over 100 years. Don't start with the Super Bowl. Try some easier trips first.
