Correct, but there is always something to learn about a spouse. Also, the topic of horses has never come up. I'm sure if she had a bad experience with them I would've heard about it by now, but it hasn't.

In my opinion, yes, but that's because I'm a woman that likes horses, lol. If she likes horses, or has ever talked about wanting to ride before, then this is an awesome idea, and a great way to get away from the cliche dinner-and-a-movie that everyone else is always doing.

Some people are afraid of horses, though, and you definitely don't want her to feel pressured to do something she's afraid of, just because you put so much into planning and paying for the riding lesson/date.

On the other hand, if she is afraid of horses, this might be a good way to help her get over that fear...

So I'd say go for it.
