Fishing from boat or shore

Which do you prefer? To go out on the lake and fish from a boat or fish from the shore? I like both. My kids like to go out in the boat. They usually end up jumping over and swimming most days.

I am hoping next month to be fishing from a kayak. I can only hope I like that the best. I do like both though, boat and shore. Sometimes you can get in the boat and go places you couldn't reach from the shore. Other times you just want to sit in a chair and take a nap while the fish are not biting. Yeah, I will be one of the old guys who sleeps under a tree while fishing, not caring if the fish stole the bait or not.

I do both but I prefer to fish on the boat, where there is nothing to worry about when you are casting (except your fishing friends). Using a boat, you has a freedom to find any spot you want to fish on.

Both are fun, but I think I prefer to fish from shore. Ideally, I'd kayak someplace remote, put in, and fish there ... all alone (or with my wife).

So, you would kayak somewhere, find a great spot and fish on shore there, right? Have you ever fished on kayak (is it even possible?). I mostly fish on boat in a group, and never kayaked alone.
