Two of my favorites are a baby Rapela or a Mr. Twister.

Anything that moves and some things that don't will catch bass. My all time favorite is the K&E Bass Stopper, an artificial worm.

I usually don't trek very far,
when around me no bass are.

Hi...

For lake fishing my best results were with surface lures, and artificial worms fished in in an erratic way. For rivers, my best luck was with artificial worms, hooked in the middle, then just cast and let it drift.

I believe that bass, or any fresh water game fishing techniques will have to change with the water temperature, and with the seasons.

I had an uncle who frequently caught very large fish. How did he do it? He used very large live bait...!!

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

I have always had alot of luck with spinnerbaits and crankbaits. but i live in california, so sunlight and clear water are most common. it seems like bouncing a small crankbait off of the rocks drives them nuts out here. but thats in the lakes.

In the rivers, the artificial worms work killer! just like pathfinder1 stated, hooked in the middle so they look all goofy, then let em drift. sometimes you might need a small splitshot.
