Default Safe amount

Is there a safe a amount of fish to eat every day? I know the experts say you should eat X amount but do you listen to this advice? We usually go fishing every other weekend so if we catch about 3 fish between us we eat them over the next week.

Three fish every other week? You're fine. You're more than fine. Even three servings of fish weekly is fine.

The thing about fish, you've got to be worried about the mercury levels in the meat. It's not the fish, it's the mercury.

I eat a lot of canned tuna. Lots of people are telling me that the level of mercury in the oceans is very high. They say that smaller fish is better to eat (the ones that live shorter) for some reason.

Is it because the younger fish have had less time to absorb mercury?

I think I've heard that a wild salmon was better than farmed salmon for mercury content - Has anyone else heard that, or maybe I've got it mixed up?

I think that is correct assumption about the life length. I think that was the case: "younger fish have had less time to absorb mercury".

I am not a fish eater unless it is Mcdonalds or Burger King. I take Fish Oil capsules every day. I think that si a good way to get your Omega 3`s if you don`t like fish.

You are right, it's a very good way. But I like fish very much, there isn't a day that goes by with fish on my menu.
