Canoe or kayak?

I've used both a canoe and a kayak. For me, it has always depended on how many people are with us in the group. Canoe's can be quite heavy compared to kayaks.

Or they can be small and made out of Kevlar and lighter than kayaks, since they have no deck.

Let's look at this way. Kayaks are favored by people that follow trends, young people, people that like to day paddle, those with little skill and those that like to paddle in the ocean.

Canoes are favored by older people, those that like to camp overnight, carry dogs, and traditionalists.

I like to camp overnight and don't like to paddle in the ocean, but I use a kayak. As for being young and trendy...heck, I'll go for that! :Peace:

I like kayaking more than canoeing. I do agree that it does depend on how many people are going with you. I usually go by myself out on the lake near my house. It's more peaceful being out on the water all alone.
