I don't know. However, a deer is a ruminant which means it is a cud chewing animal regurgitating its' food and chewing it after partial digestion and allowing oxygen to reach the broken down food releasing vitamin B12, an essential nutrient to all animals. Their stomach is sectioned. I don't know how many sections. Whatever that first section is seems to be the answer you want. Do we have a biologist in the audience?

First section is the rumen. The reticulum is the storage section. I thought I had answered this when Jason first posted it but I guess I didn't hit post.
