My husband was driving down the interstate in a Volkswagen Bug when he and a friend saw a car hit a deer. The car drove on didn't even stop. They were on their way to do some hunting so their guns were in the trunk. When they stopped the deer was injured but not dead. They went ahead and...
When is the best time of year to go deep sea fishing? I'm sure in areas like Florida you can fish year round but is there a time of year when the fishing seems to be better in Florida?
Of course, I thought it was an air-breathing dolphin. I'm from the Midwest and have been saltwater fishing once. I thought those were the only type of dolphins there were. Of course if you click on that picture you will note that it is not a picture of the dolphin but, instead a yellowfin tuna.
I enjoy hiking familiar trails alone. I don't wander down unfamiliar trails alone. That's a hubby rule. But then we enjoy exploring the unknown together.
I am not a cold weather trekker. I would rather trek over the sand dunes than trek through the snow drifts. However I am not opposed to burying the kids in the snow; although sand doesn't melt so it could take longer to find them. (Sorry my mind got away from me there. You must admit 3 weeks...
Well, I bought my first pair of snowshoes and it would have made a hilarious video. Thankfully there was no one around with a video camera, phone or any other video capturing device. The falling part was easy. I kept tripping over the tip of my snowshoe. But the real work of art was the...
Our area ended up with about 10 inches of snow by the end of the day on Monday. The kids and my husband went out and built an igloo, a snowman and lots of snow angels. My job was the camera. I will have to upload some pictures when I get the chance.
Love all the healthy ingredients in this recipe. My family loves cooking food on or in the campfire. I agree with Cappy though and I would divide and wrap in individual portions. If I quarter the chicken, instead of half, I will have the perfect size servings for the entire family.
You get stranded unexpectedly in the wilderness with just what you can carry on your person, no back pack to hold supplies. What is the one most important thing you would want to have on you at that time (besides a cell phone)?
What type of camping do you do? I could see the benefits of this style if you are going to be camping in a campground that has modern hook ups and bathroom facilities. Not sure this is the type of set up for back woods camping though.
Fuel prices in our area are starting to drop. Hopefully we will get the RV out a little more this winter. I prefer RV camping in the winter. Has the cost of fuel affected the number of times you've had your RV on the road?
And that is why when we are camping everything is left at home, except for one cell phone, in case of an emergency. I want them to experience life as they have never known it.
You might try The Foam Factory at Chair Cushion, Boat Cushions, Replacement Cushions, Patio Cushion. Their full sheets measure 108" X 48". You can order various thicknesses and colors, depending on what you need.
Ouch, it smarts just a little bit to hear the '60's and '70's described as the old days. When you think about it now though, it seems a little ironic that after all the "free love" that was promoted then that people are returning to their prudish ways.
I have a two person dome that is 15 years old and a cabin tent that sleeps six that is about 30 years old. Our family used to camp in it when I was a kid.
I am looking for an efficient, low-cost water purifier to use while camping. Does anyone here use a purifier or do you carry all your water in? We went camping for a week this past summer and used a lot of space carrying in water.
I like the idea of having the kids camp in the backyard. Mine would be the ones to throw a fit and not want to do it though. They would never suggest camping in the cold.
