Credit card stolen

We did not have the physical card stolen but the information of the card. Has anyone had this happen before? I know with a debit card it is easy to replace but American Express said it might take longer than a week. Is that normal?

I've had it happen a few times before. It was a lot less painful then I thought. But it took a week or two before the new cards came. Both times the bank called me about a strange purchase so that is why I started using quicken to check almost daily.
