Good one, ppine. I met an old guy (85) who was asked why he still took long hikes in the desert. He said: "So I can." I never forgot it and that was almost forty years ago. I'm about to turn 69. That doesn't mean much except I was alive in the forties and you weren't, you young whippersnapper.

You young pups have no idea. This grumpy old fart is doing a 70 mile backpack this summer, right through the heart of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, not to mention some smaller hikes so the grand kids and great grand kids can keep up. :camp2: And I was taking hikes while y'all were just a smile on yer daddy's face. In reality what dino and Ppine says is absolutely true. I have aged a lot the past 5 years, not from the cancer I'm fighting but from the lack of getting enough hikes in during the summers. Hiking has kept me in excellent shape in the past and I expect to regain a little of my old endurance and energy back this summer. Time will tell.:fire1:
