Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will shine bright for the holidays during its annual week-long Celebration of Lights.

From this evening through Christmas Eve, then again on Dec. 26, the Friends of the HomosassaSpringsWildlifeState Park will host a synchronized light and sound show by Sebastian Hawes, plus nightly entertainment.

Joe Dube, a Friends board member, said the Celebration of Lights has been a way for the park to thank the community and bring it together.

“Thats what we love about it,” Dube said.

While the entire park will be lit with about half a million lights, Hawes’ spectacle of lights will be in the Gardens of the Springs, near the park’s Discovery Center, where entertainment, food and drinks will be offered.

Been to the park there several times, it is a pretty nice park.

A New Orleans city park does its annual celebration in the oaks They really go in style and it is lots of fun we usually go every year. The live oaks ore over 300 years old and really magical when lit.

Jason,
Wildlife and lots of lights don't really go together.
It is fine if it makes people happy.
True but you are talking a very small percent of the area lit up. My understanding is this park does theirs in a stage like setting in their Flower garden area. A small part of this park is more like a zoo setting rather then a park like you may be thinking of.
