Saltwater fishing along the shore?

Can anyone explain the idea of fishing in the salt water along the coast? Can not find many articles online. How do you set up your rod? Not that? Bait? Casting? Just going to see the basics

Kind of depends on what you’re going after. I have used hi-low rigs for catching rays, sharks or perch... it’s a great go-to setup... you just use more weight to keep the rig in place.

You can also use slip sinker setups also for getting fish on the bottom of the column..

First drive to your local beach look for an ole guy fishing. Watch for a while approach slowly with a smile and ask him. You will find most guys willing to talk and share info. At the worst he will tell ya to go away. But a wealth of info can be found at local bait shops marinas water front bars etc. Since we dont know where you are its hard to recommend things.
