Lone Pine State Park

Situated in northwestern Montana is one of the most breathtaking state parks in the United States. Lone Pine State Park is a 270 acre state park located near Kalispell, Montana. Lone Pine State Park is surrounded on all sides by some of the largest national forests in the U.S. The park is flanked on its east and west sides by Flathead National Forest (east) and Kaniksu National Forest (west). Lolo and Clearwater National Forests are found just to the south of Lone Pine State Park.

Lone Pine State Park covers 270 acres of land at an elevation just under 3,000 ft, providing breathtaking views of Flathead Valley and miles of trail systems that any outdoor enthusiast would love. The park also features a recently remodeled visitor center that brings a touch of the modern world to this peaceful corner of Montana. The visitor center offers guests year round accommodations such as park information, trail guides, and modern restroom facilities. There are also workshops held at the visitor center for guests of all age that include interpretive programs and books for children.

The visitor center also boasts a Community Room that contains flat screen, LCD televisions, restrooms, and room for 100 guests. The new community room is perfect for get-togethers such as birthday parties, family reunions, and even weddings! The meeting room can be rented on a daily basis for a fee of $75.

Guests looking for a more rustic outing in the park can rent covered picnic areas at Lone Pine State Park to host events. These covered picnic grounds include picnic tables, charcoal grills, fire pits, and bathroom access. These locations can be rented by contacting the visitor center at Lone Pine State Park.

Any outdoor enthusiast will find something to do at Lone Pine State Park, and thanks to the remodeled visitor center it is possible to visit the park on a year round basis and find help in picking an activity. The park is open every day from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm during the winter months and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm during the summer months. There is a daily fee of $5 per vehicle (or $3 for walk-in and bike-in guests) to access the park for non-resident visitors to Lone Pine State Park, making it an inexpensive family getaway.
