The great valley grasslands is a park that is near Los Banos, California. It has many areas to visit and is quite the unique area that has been preserved as one of the last native grasslands in the valley. There is a wide variety of things you can do while visiting the great valley grasslands. Below is just a few of the attractions that it holds.
One of the first and best things you can expect to do while visiting this area is the fishing and the wildlife you can view. Around the spring you have a lot of beautiful flowers that you can walk along the shores and view. Apart from the springs is a pool in the park that has a lot of different varying species of shrimp as well as other species that are endangered.
Along with the wildlife and fishing, in the month of December, there are a lot of activities planned. Early in the month you can bring your children and sit down and have breakfast with santa. The breakfast consists of ham and eggs and the tickets don’t even cost much at all. The tickets range from six dollars to eight dollars and a picture with santa will only cost you two dollars. Later on in the month, after you have had your breakfast with santa, the great valley grasslands offers a wonderful holiday concert on the nineteenth. This is where you can sit down and enjoy a wonderful evening listening to some beautiful music and relax with your family.
After you have enjoyed the scenery after a little while, you may be starting to get hungry, well in Los Banos there are quite a few places where you can enjoy great cuisine. Such restaurants include Cecilia’s, M&M Italian restaurant, and even a great China Garden. Each of these places offer a wide variety of food to fill your palate, as well as a great dining experience where you can sit down and enjoy the beautiful day from their views out the windows.
If you have not yet worked up an appetite, then perhaps taking a walk along one of the great valley grassland trails would be next in your stop at this wonderful park. The grasslands trail is an actual six mile loop that shows off the more beautiful aspects of the park. A half mile into your walk , you will see a big vernal pool that is often visited by ducks and water fowl. But if ducks and such are not your thing, then you can keep walking and the further you go the trail will soon turn into a beautiful nature walk. The grass will get higher and you will soon find yourself lost in a wonderland. Here, is where you can stop and there is no sound of cars driving past. In fact, the only sound you will hear is the grass when the wind blows lightly across it.
