    Forgotten the salt

Yes, on our first camping trip we forgot to bring salt. It's a good thing that we have neighbors that camped near us and they brought a ration of condiments, salt included.

    Dinner for breakfast?

Honestly I don't have issues eating breakfast that comes from dinner's leftovers. I'll just have to re-heat the food if it was stored in a cold cooler. It's not odd at all, in fact, we do it to save some food for the next meal/day if we plan to stay longer on camping.

    Ants and other insects

I use a spray container with apple cider vinegar and water mixed in it then spray around the tent. Another option for me is using a mosquito coil to keep them away from biting me.

    Eating in the tent?

No, I don't eat inside my tent. I wouldn't even allow the kids to eat inside their tent. Eating is best done at the campfire, it's more appropriate that way, at least the tent should stay clean inside at all times and free from food particles.

A soap that keeps the mosquitos away?

I have heard of Herbaria before but never tried using their product. It's true that they have this soap and spray that keeps mosquitos away but I don't know which soap product of theirs work best. For keeping ants away, they have this soap name called Ant Away and is used for household purposes.

    Keeping count

Me too, I keep an eye for everyone who goes with us especially when we swim in the waters. Some of our companions are not good swimmers so we tag some friends who would offer assistance.

    Taking frozen meat?

Of course! We always take some frozen meat and other foods that needs to be frozen (like cheese sticks, butter, etc.) while camping as long as we have enough ice packed in our cooler to keep them fresh and freezing.

    Different lunch ideas

Try grilling some meat to produce a barbeque meal, veggies and fruits. Grilled meat can be perfect for pita wraps if you love to eat that kind, veggies for appetizer or side dish and grilled fruits for dessert (grilled pineapple with maple syrup) If you like pasta, you can always cook the sauce...

    Knives

I have a Swiss knife aside from kitchen knife. This pocket knife of mine always comes in handy and I use it for all purposes - cutting ropes, peeling vegetables, screwing loose screwdrivers and more.

    Predicting weather

Just watch air pressure, the clouds, the behavior of animals and the red sky. They help indicate whether the weather next day will be fine or stormy.

    Diet and camping

I try to stay on a diet because when I go out camping I tend to eat more. All those camping workout makes me tired, thirsty and hungry.

    What should I buy

Try to check some cool Coleman pop-up campers if you can afford one. Select one that is equipped with mini refrigerators, small dinette sets, showers and toilets and cooking surfaces. Make sure it can also accommodate a family of four.

    Hiking boots

I have hiking boots that I don't use often except for hiking activities. One feature is that it covers my ankles since I am prone to ankle sprain and needs support and better grip. I'm using the same brand that you're using, Newanderthal. It's called the Merrell Ozzy hiking shoes.

Good light weight sleeping bag needed

I use Mountain Hardwear Lamina Sleeping Bag that is synthetic. I chose synthetic because I'm also allergic to down materials. This bag is excellent for damp and winter conditions.
