    Potatoes?

I just know how to bake potatoes in the camp fire. All I did was poke each potatoes with fork, season it with melted butter, some salt and pepper. I even added some rosemary herbs to add flavor to it. Of course I double wrap them with aluminum foil and bury it in the hot coals for 30 to 60...

    Dinner for breakfast?

Eating leftovers for breakfast from last night? I have no problem with it as long as it has been re-heated properly to kill off bacteria. But I'm more okay on fruits and some juice to eat for breakfast.

    Sleeping In Hammocks

What a good idea! I have never given it a thought to camp around and sleep in a hammock. Maybe I should buy a hammock made of rattan but it maybe difficult to fit it in the car.

    For exercise?

I do like to go out hiking. It's a good form of exercise, at least my body is moving and I am likely to burn a lot of calories from this activity.

    Kids clothing?

Anyone here knows a good brand of clothing for infant and kids when you took them on a camping trip? I am having a hard time finding a baby camping gear for my two-year old nephew which would keep him warm and help protect him from cold temperature that is down to a -20 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Getting sick

I suffered from a slight cold (it started with a simple sneeze) then gradually worsened. A few bouts of strong sneezes made my sinus sore, following headache then whole body weakness. I stayed inside my tent the whole day, others just did their thing to make their camping experience enjoyable...

    Favorite Fish To Catch

Red snapper and black Tilapia. Can't pick the best of the two, they are both my favorite fish to catch and eat! They are best tasted when grilled along with vegetable salsa.

    Dealing With The Heat

I wore light-colored clothing when we camped last summer. Water bottles are always packed on my bag to help keep my body hydrated against hot temperature and I always bring sun protection with me like hat, sunglasses and sunscreen lotion.

What To Do With Bored Kids

Good idea, paloma. Some kiddie games should keep the kids entertained. Let them play with other kids in the camp if you both happen to camp around with the group of campers that brought their kids along.

    Camping with a kid

My girlfriend is taking her little nephew with her at our camping activity next month. Although it's not my first time to camp in the wilderness, I never camped with a one-year old kid before. Can you share your experience camping with kids at this age? So that I could think of ideas of how to...

    To be honest....

I don't know how to swim freestyle at this age, but I can do basic floating technique and that's about it. I consider myself an amateur swimmer and stays most of the time at the 5 feet water swimming pool.

Quick and easy, or a little extra effort?

I prefer making quick and easy meals. I do this especially if I'm hungry and can't wait to finish cooking my food in time. Cooking meat and preparing heavy ingredients requires a little bit more effort so I chose the easy way of preparing meals.

    Lamps

I use this one, Brunton Glorb LED Lantern equipped with four AA's. Good for camping, boating, backpacking and even for emergency purposes. It is also lightweight and small.
