    Fat America

Take your fat cat on a walk, it will be fun! As far as outdoor cars, I think it depends on where you live. There are some cities which are unsafe for outdoor cats, and others where they thrive well.

    I hate taxes!!!

I like the idea of taxes; however it is disappointing in how the government uses the funds. I saw a figure released by some mathematicians on how much the U.S. Government wastes on inefficient and outdated practices and procedures (I can't remember the exact number) but it was enough to say DOH!

    Camping Van

My wife and I have our own vehicles. I drive a truck and she drives a compact car. A friend of ours has a minivan for sale and has offered it to us at a good price. It is in good shape and runs well. My wife wants to get it as our camping van. However, I don't think we need a third car...

    Always prepared

I don't know how often he refreshes things. It is funny, he always seems to be broke. He is either working or hiking, no GF, family or anything like that. Now I understand why he is so broke. I wonder if 6 months from now there will be 6 packs... you know for tundra hiking. Lol. He is a good...

Tire Blow Out - Oh No

That is pretty bad luck. Were the tires in bad shape at the time or were you just unlucky and hit a nail or something. My friend has a Harley that has brand new tires and on Easter he ran over a nail and one of the tires went flat. It is never fun when new tires go down!

Dumb things you have seen people do in camp

Last year when we were in a family campground there was a group of kids. They were probably between 12 and 16. They were all taking turns jumping over the campfire. There were adults there (not sure if they were the parents or not), but they didnt say anything to the kids.

    Garlic Mustard

I hate garlic mustard. It is so evasive that it is taking over the woods near our house. You can go out and spend a whole day picking it and you don't even make a dent. Grr.

    HP All-In-One Touch Smart PC

I have never had an HP. I did have an Acer that sucked. Both USB ports broke pretty quickly. Further research uncovered that the ports them selves were put in upside down, which probably led to them getting broken.

    Going back for lost things!

Yeah, I should have made this rule much sooner. I think I won't even let them leave the house with stuff they don't need for the hike itself. They may not like it at first, but I think it will be for the best.

    Doomsday Preppers

There was a show on TV last night about doomsday preppers. Some people are really serious. One of the people was teaching their 2-3 year old how to shoot a gun. I was kind of surprised at that.

    Going back for lost things!

I think I am going to make a new rule for hiking with my kids. No more MP3 players, books or barbies. This week on three separate treks the kids lost one of those items along the way. Everything was found when we went back, although it was funny trying to fish Barbie out of the river.

    hail damage

I hope you have a good insurance company. A long time ago I was in the same situation and the insurance company that I was with refused to fix the damage. I ended up canceling them and getting a new company.

    Tent camping with toddlers?

We took our kids camping when they were toddler. There are some things you can do, depending on their age. When ours were still very little we had a little portable enclosure to put them in when we needed hands free. Other than that, just teach them the rules and all will be fine.

    Mt. Rushmore

I have never been to Mount Rushmore, but I do hope to go there one day. I think it would be an interesting thing to take the kids to see. There is a lot of history there.

    Surviving in a Cave

We have all kinds of caves around here. If you had to live in one for an emergency situation you could. It would be much better than trying to build your own shelter.

    Bug Out Motorhome

I think that is why he is looking for alternative energy such as solar power and what not. He could be like my brother who bought some land in the middle of nowhere. He bought an old broken down motor home and had it moved to the plot. That is his bug out spot, and I think it is cool.

    Asperger's and hiking

My friend has a son with Asperger's, the kid has the worst time at school. Other children bully him and the teachers are largely uneducated about Aspergers. The interesting thing is that when this kid gets out in nature he is brilliant. He makes a better hiking partner than most adults I know...
