JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A second state park in northwest Missouri has been partly closed because of potential flooding.

Lewis and Clark State Park is located close to the flood-swollen Missouri River about 20 miles downstream from St. Joseph.

On Wednesday, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources closed the park's campground Wednesday until further notice. The park itself remains open for day use.

Farther north along the Missouri, the agency closed the campground at Big Lake State Park early last week, then closed the park altogether a few days later.

A breach in a farm levee allowed water from the rising river to swamp much of the park, and state officials say it will probably remain closed through July.
