Your Ideal Kayaking Conditions

I prefer to kayak in the ocean near the shoreline...if I can get out past where the waves are breaking and kayak up and down the beach, I'm in heaven. I know there are so many other ways to enjoy kayaking though - what's your favorite?

still rivers and lakes. I love checking out cuts and coves where larger boats can't go.

Ooh I'm not sure about kayaking in the ocean. The sea scares me and I hate the feeling of not knowing what's underneath me! I've only gone canoeing a few times in calm rivers with no dangerous creatures lurking in the water.

I gotta say, I'm a river guy. I've kayaked in ocean and lakes too. They're fine, but I like to explore. If you get out on a big lake or ocean, there's nothing really to looking at. One exception, a Lake with islands or a lake that offers nooks to explore. Like Lake Sonoma. I had a blast there!
