    Finally...a real 'invisibility cloak'...!!

So do we get to ride our brooms and play quidditch? I call the Golden Snitch!!! Seriously, it's an awesome use of technology. I would love for our soldiers to have it but I wonder what will happen during battle if both sides have it?? It will change warfare as we know it if it comes into common use.

Grand Canyon Older Than We Think

That's very interesting. I love to read things like this. I don't remember history facts but it's always interesting to see what theories are out there. Dinosaur-I think I may have been right before you. :D

    Hey Sarge!

I had no idea either. I do hope things are going very well for you. Recovery isn't easy for anyone. I hate having surgery. I have had too many procedures to count and I'm getting doctor shy now. Like an old horse that's been beat one time too many. :D

    Food for Thought

There are a lot of things I can remember us doing when I was a kid that weren't that far off of the mark. One thing I was shocked to learn that people don't do any more is the practice of making a carpet which goes around the bed but not UNDER the bed. A very frugal practice which was something...

    And now it is cold

I don't like the up and down of our temperatures either. It has been quite unusual for us as we used to have a week or two of moderate temperatures and then a gradual chilling, but now it's 70 one day and 20 the next. My internal temperature is all messed up.

    Camel Milk?

I watched a rerun of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe last night, and he was in California helping to take care of camels and milking them. It was awesome! I didn't know camels had to have a baby "ask" them for the milk before they will let down their milk. It was some sort of nomadic instinct that...

    Sitting on the back steps

WOW!! That's awesome! You should be proud of your brother or sister for teaching him well. I hope he continues to do as well as that the rest of his life. He is certainly ambitious.

Saw ten eagles the other day

That's awesome!! I would love to be able to see eagles like that. We have a couple of red-headed woodpeckers but that's one of the only unusual species we see. The darned things keep up that "rat-a-tat-tat-tat" all day. It doesn't give them a headache but it does me. :D

    Cram The Cruiser

We even have a local food bank that one woman started about two years ago. She didn't have help but trusted that things would get done. She now provides food for over 200 families a month. She also participates in a "backpack snack" program which sends food to school age children for the...

    Ice Caves

Beautiful, but I will have to admire it from afar. I freeze to easily to be comfortable in that environment. I wear a thick coat when I go through the freezer section at the local Wal-Mart. :D

    Indoor Rock Climbing

I don't think I would like it. I've watched people do it and I understand it's a good exercise but it's just not for me. I like to feel ground under my feet when at all possible.

Where are there the most caves?

Mammoth Cave is in Kentucky. My husband and I went on a tour there when we were first married. It was beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who loves caves.

    Cram The Cruiser

Our local state police post is having a "cram the cruiser" food drive for the local food banks. It's so nice to see everyone pulling together to help people at this time of the year, but I would love to see it happen at other times. We have been having a lot of families who have been very hard...

    My holiday gift to OutddorBasecamp

Ahhhh, you guys have found my weakness! I love sweets but they don't like me. I have to make these. I have made pecan pies for ages but I'm always on the lookout for a new recipe. Christmas Eve dinner will be better for it.

    I'm Cold!

I know at 45 degrees F, it's not that cold. But I swear, I'm freezing. I don't know if it's because I haven't yet gotten used to the change of weather or because I'm anemic. Anyway, I'm covered up with a quilt with the thermostat of the furnace up to 72. I think I'll move to Florida...
