Backpacking in the ma area

Anybody know of a good location to hike in and set up camp? Its probably going to be a group of 10 people total if we can find a good spot. Was hoping to find a spot next to a river so its easy to follow in and out, also to have something to swim in. Would also need a place to park, ive been looking on different sites and have come up empty handed, any help would be great!

how far do you want to hike,how long do you want to stay and what part of Ma are you in?

The Appalachain Trail passes through western Ma and in many places you can camp anywhere along it as long as you are at least 150 feet from a road.
