Have you ever eaten buffalo burgers? I remember having one when I lived in Colorado years ago. It was good but a little stronger than beef. I wouldn't even know where to buy ground buffalo. Any suggestions?

In the west, there are a lot of places to get buff burger. There is a large ranch not far from here that had about 200-250 buffalo on grass when we passed yesterday. Many restaurants now carry buffalo and elk on the menu. I'm sure if you look around you will find some close to you as well. I'm not a huge fan, preferring beef or elk.

I haven't had them but people have told me that they are not that great because it's very lean. Ted's Montana Grill has them and they are experiencing some success with it.

I have never had one. Then again I don't think there are many buffaloes in this area. A local restaurant does sell buffalo meat though. I just never tried it.

I actualy use to be a waiter at Ted's Montana Grill. I like the beef bruger more because they always seemd juicier because of the fat content, personal option. The buffalo stakes were amazing.

I live in the Indiana and there are a couple small buffalo farms that I know of that raise buffalo for the meat. I have never tried it but I enjoy going by and watching the animals graze. Sometimes they come up to the fence by the road.

In Michigan, there are a handful of buffalo ranches where you can buy meat. I had buffalo Joes once at a church outing. I have to say it wasn't bad, but it was a little dryer than beef.

I had them once when I was staying at a place WAYYY off the Strip in Vegas. They had a little snack bar attached to their "casino" that served food at rather low prices. The burger was pretty tasty, but as others have pointed out, was a bit dry and lean.

Of all the game I've eaten, I'd have to say I prefer Moose above all others.

I first had them in So Dak in the 1960s. Lots of ranches now grow bison especially in the Great Plains of Wy, MT, Neb, the Dakotas. I can get ground buffalo meat at several grocery stores in Nevada. I can get lots of other cuts with a little looking.

I served buffalo roasts for Thanksgiving for about 15 years in a row. Bison meat is leaner than beef with less cholesterol. It has a nice flavor. It is best cooked slowly with moisture and is perfect in a Dutch. I like to use beer, apple cider or wine to cook it in with plenty of seasoning. I like to make barbecue sauce from scratch using some strong coffee as a base. It makes me hungry just writing this.
