Do you use an air mattress?

We hardly ever use a air mattress. They are way too much work. I prefer to spend my time doing something more enjoyable. I've gotten used to a sleeping bag and it doesn't bug me much. I know people who have really fancy air mattresses, though.

My wife and I use a Intex full size double layer air mattress. My son had a Coleman folding cot for a few yrs but now wants his own air mattress.
They're called The Rocky Mountains for a reason!

Cappy,
I am finding the cot with the mesh is really good in warm weather with no pad on it. The air freely circulates under it.

It is common for Newbies to complain about being cold even in the summer if they sleep directly on the ground, or with an old style air mattress with no insulation.

For those that have not tried it, a bale of straw is like Heaven to sleep on and very warm. My great uncle always brought straw to hunting camp. My Dad did the same thing when we hunted as kids.
