Thanks for the visual. That set-up would be helpful, but would take a lot of practice. One adage that is true, is that groundhog hunters from the East make great long distance big game hunters. They shoot all year at tiny target.
I would still prefer a Huskama scope ( with calibrated turrets for each caliber) if I were to get into long range hunting.
Cuz is right that my brother made a mistake. That was a long time ago and that is how we learned. He also has better than 20-20 vision and has a long history of great shots on game animals. When we were kids he splattered a fly with bb gun in the basement.
In many ways this is a moot discussion because I still like to hunt with a muzzleloader and get within 100 yards.
