Tabletop DO Cooking?

It is too much stuff to drag around. I don't use charcoal, or tables. Just bring a DO, lifter and a shovel.
We just use the ground, shovel and coals but a lot of USFS campgrounds in our area now have a pedestal charcoal grill permantly mounted with the grill able to swing out of the way. The resulting flat table also works well for a dutch oven table. Camp chef makes a good portable table but we agree with Ppine, we think its too much trouble to haul around.

Yea, what^ said. A small shovel of coals from the camp fire, put on oven, big heaping shovel full on top(remember heat rises) sue the handle thingy lift the pot turn 90 degrees every 15 minutes, lift the lid stirr if needed and turn the other way. repeat every 15 minutes every other time grab a beer or snort from a jug and continue till you and supper are done.

Do not know how I would like to carry it around, even car camping, but I guess it could be done. I think the price on amazon may be a bit high too. See if you can find a DO group near you and anyone would sell a used one cheap.
