  • I hope you are feeling "real good" today Pine and you are able to get out. Age and condition sure take a wack at our outdoor endeavours. A few years back we closed our facility to visitation and virtually shut down Christmas. So I suggested that we celebrate another time. At the end of January, we did just that. Celebrate when you can. :Smile2:

Back troubles for the last 3 weeks, but the heart is better. The winter has been tough. Looking to get out by the end of Mar.

Hi ND. Merry Christmas. I am laying low recovering from heart problems. We postponed our Winter Solstice Party to the Eve of New year's Eve. I am able to go outside now and walk a bit. I miss being in the outdoors. Nature is God.

That's a bummer. But I'm glad you are able to get outside. Hopefully, a few steps will lead to more and more.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Blessings to you ND.
How are the plans going for the Grand Canyon trip? Spring is slowly coming in this area - the plants are breaking through the surface.

Thanks for asking. The enthusiasm level is not what I am looking for. People seem to have health problems like me or not enough money for a trip.

I appreciate what you are saying. I get so frustrated sometimes with all the obstacles we have to deal with. And true, I find myself saying, "This could be my last year." So I do what I can to make it happen.

Hi - hope you are doing well. We are halfway through winter and I've noticed the number of outdoor shows being advertised.
GOOD EVENING... It snowed like crazy yesterday. But today it was sunny and mild as we all dug ourselves out of the drifts. Trust all is well in your region. Best wishes to you.
HELLO on this very rainy night and rainy week. The central air conditioner was winterized today and all the summer garden decorations have been put away for another year. So we are now into Harvest Thanksgiving, and soon to follow Halloween. Then...it's so difficult to say - the Christmas Season will be upon us.

Trust all is well my Basecamp Friend.

Happy Fall to you ND. Great time for camping. Next week I am having a dinner party and inviting 3 couples to dinner out at the camp site. I am setting up the wall tent with the wood stove. Cooking in Dutch Ovens, either stacked enchiladas, or lasagna.
...like to stop by now and then and say howdy. Trust all is well with you and yours in your neck of the woods.

Hi ND. Fires are troublesome right now. The Caldor Fire is aimed right at Lake Tahoe. The smoke is bad. We are tired of the heat. Covid is coming back. Otherwise we are doing fine and involved in some house remodel. I hope to go camping if we get a break in the smoke. Hope you are well.

Thanks, I'm doing well and getting out as much as I can too. Strange things are happening in the lands and it makes one nervous. Glad you are doing well.

The fires are out. We are getting snow. The wall tent looks forlorn with snow on it. I have been cooking with the Dutch Oven in the campsite. Merry Christmas.
...I read your posts with great interest and am flabbergasted of how much we have in common. [Kinda like that.] For example, I was on the professional staff of the Big Brother [now Big Brother/Big Sister] Association. :Smile2:

I am currently teaching two teen-aged brothers to ride horses. They had Crack Parents and are wards of the State. They are the first kids I have worked with that really want my help. So I am giving it to them. We are going to do some hiking besides our one day a week horse work. I have a great horse a 22 yo Warmblood mare that is teaching all three of us.

Well...you see now...how important you are and the good things that you are doing? All power to you "Pine" - we need guys like you. Having said that, it's going to be a challenge, though a good one, it's still going to be a challenge all the same. You are wise in having a horse involved. Strange as it may seem, this added resource can be mighty powerful. Keep me posted - I'm interested.
How's the Captain tonight? What are you doing in that fabulous back lot of yours?

Mostly I sit in the afternoon in the sun and look at the mountains. I hike in the million acre back yard several days a week. I am now working with horses again at least once a week. I like to build a fire on a nice day and cook dinner out back.

...fantastic - when you collect yourself around that fire lift a glass for me and I'll do the same for you.

I was thinking [on occasion I do that] about your experiences that we are unaware of. Can I put a thought into your head? Why not communicate with Jason and do a series of articles on your experiences and knowledge? I for one would be studiously reading them. Just sayin...
